Autobiographical and biographical data and a school visitation journal kept by Drew, the first superintendent of schools in St. Paul (Minn.). The school journal (Oct. 1858-July 1859; typed and microfilm copies) is a record of his visits to St. Paul schools, in which he notes conduct of students and teachers, teaching methods, textbooks, examinations, academic achievements, and physical conditions.
